“Superb lyrics that will really strike a chord.”
Michelle Hussey, BBC Radio Manchester.
Rose is a fierce supporter of all things live music related, a sterling addition to any jam night and a bit of a legend in our little valley (don’t tell her that though, she’d only blush!).
Compelling singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the North West of England, Rose Greenwood hit the music scene after finishing an English Literature degree with First Class honours. Her poetic and thought provoking lyrics are directly influenced by the great philosophical poets and writers from the Twentieth Century, and her eclectic musical arrangemements vary from uplifting rock to intimate acoustic fingerstyle guitar.
After writing and recording three EPs and one album, touring the grassroots festival scene with her band, The Broux, and numerous live performances for cult venues and radio stations across the country, including BBC Radio Lancashire, BBC Introducing in Manchester, and staunch independent music supporters AllFM, a sudden accident put Rose out of the game. She was forced to sit on the sidelines for a time, recover, recoup, relearn her instrument, and reassess her musical direction.
Rose has now returned to her acoustic roots, and you can find her performing intimate shows and festivals up and down the country, collaborating musically and writing songs with a wide range of artists along the way.
Rose is also a well known music educator, and she works hard to promote the incredible personal and social benefits of learning an instrument, songwriting and playing music together, especially for young people in the UK today.
Her new album, ‘The Secret Irwell,’ can be found on all major streaming platforms including Spotify and iTunes, and you can order a copy or download it from Bandcamp today.
